Lent – the season of fasting and prayer – is upon us.

True fasting, the kind that our Lord has chosen, is:

to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke

Isaiah 58:6

Refugees are the innocent victims of injustice, persecution and violence. Men, women, children, whole families and communities have fled from the places they once called home. Having faced violence and conflict, they have risked their lives and made treacherous journeys to uncertain destinations in their bid for safety.

Will you set aside some time this Lent to fast and pray for refugees?

The Stations Exhibition is a 14-station photograph exhibition reflecting on the Stations of the Cross and the suffering of Jesus through images and stories of today’s refugees. Hosting the Stations exhibition at your church is the perfect way begin a conversation around what it means to connect with refugees as global neighbours and how what we can do to respond to the unfolding crisis, as a church as well as a wider community. Find out more about the exhibition and rent your own here.
